Fall is a season that you can do so much in. I mean it's not too hot, it's not too cold. It doesn't rain (that much), it isn't a blizzard outside yet. There are so many outdoor activities that you can still do, and so many fun indoor ones as well. Today I thought I'd share ten things that I hope to do this fall into winter. Some of these are definitely cliche but I'm so excited to do them all.
#1: Apple picking. I love love love apple picking. I pretty much have gone every year with my family as long as I can remember. I get so excited to go each fall. We drive down to the valley and the sights along the way are gorgeous. I love when the honeycrisp apples are pickable. They are definitely my fav. Baking all of the apple treats and making Skor dip when I get home is super fun too. :)
#2: Pumpkin patch. This goes hand-in-hand with apple picking. The apple orchard that we go to has a pumpkin patch across the road so we stop here on our way home. I love getting pumpkins from pumpkin patches better than a grocery store because it adds to the fall feel.
#3: Football game. I have never once been to a football game at my university, and I'm back for year 5 so I feel like this is something that I should do this year. They were fun in high school and the atmosphere of sporting events just makes me happy. This is a definite must and it needs to be done sooner than later, because university football season ends soon!
#4: Run outside. Running outside is one of my favourite ways to exercise. I mean sure I don't run the whole time, but the effort is there right haha. I didn't do much running outside this summer because it was so hot! So I definitely want to get in a few good runs before it turns icy and snowy and super cold outside!
#5: Craft shows. There are so many good craft shows/fairs around and going to them in the fall just gets me super excited for Christmas. I like to make October - December as eventful and exciting as I can. I definitely drag out the holiday season, like in my mind, it is currently the "holiday season" right now. There are 2 craft shows that I am already excited for plus an etsy fair coming to my hometown and I already have them marked in my planner to go!
#6: Bake fall treats. Does this even need elaborating? Pumpkin everything. Yes please. And cookies, alllll of the cookies.
#7: Scarf exchange. This is something I've wanted to do for a few years now. It would be super fun to get your group of girls together and do a scarf exchange (like a white elephant Christmas gift exchange but with scarves!). Of course Starbucks and fall baked goods would be a necessity here.
#8: Haunted house/corn maze. I used make either one, or both, of these a must every fall but I haven't gone for a few years. I think it would be super fun to go with a few friends and make a fun night out of it. Haunted houses and corn mazes are so fun. I love being scared and the fact that so many other people are there too, to do the same thing as you are, makes for a fun fall feel.
#9: Watch the sunset/look at the stars. I want to do this. At this lake by my house, sitting on the dock. I think it would be so cute to get Starbucks or bring a hot drink and bundle up while watching the sunset. It would be a really fun, chill date. Looking at the stars would be super fun and an easy date for the fall! It would be really cosy to even just curl up on your patio with a bunch of blankets and watch the stars. These two are easy musts for the fall.
#10: Read more books. I love reading and I feel like (know) that I don't do it as much as I should. I have to read so many books for my classes this semester that I know I won't feel like I have time to read books that I am interested in reading, but I want to make time. I think it would be so cosy to curl up with a book, some tea and a nice fuzzy blanket on a crisp fall evening.
